Yes, the first Samuel SAVAGE was brother of my ancestor, George SAVAGE.
The Sam line got into the iron bus. because the first Samuel SAVAGE
married Anna RUTTER, dau of another iron master, Thomas RUTTER. All
these iron masters arranged their marriages, I think! One of their
daus. Ruth, married John Potts - founder of Pottstown! The Benjamin
Franklin stove was named because Rebecca SAVAGE m Sam NUTT Jr and had
one in her home in Coventry when Benjamin Franklin visited them. He was
a close friend and her hubby had designed one that he thought BF would
like!! When BF was dying in Phila, it has been said that he called for
Rebecca to visit him. She was married to Robert GRACE then and the men
were all members of an intellectual society where they would meet, drink
wine, and discuss events of the times!

Unfortunately, my George SAVAGE and descendents were not of this family
direct line and not part of that 'society' of iron barons!! They are
so obscure, I can't make a link from the Zenas SAVAGE, a mason and
farmer, born in c1798 (my gr4grandfather) back to the George SAVAGE,
brother of Samuel SAVAGE, born in late 1600's who died in 1719! He had
two sons, Zanes and George and my Zenas descends from one of them. Just
traces in Roxboro and maybe Germantown area and Montgomery county! They
are elusive and hard to document thus far!
