I am looking for an obit on my Thomas ALEXANDER (b.2/14/1775) in hopes it will say where he was born, in order to get a location on his parents, Ninion and Katharine ALEXANDER. Family history says that Ninion's father (also Thomas) came to the Nottingham/West Nottingham area in 1736 with his brothers, Robert and Archibald. My Thomas arrived in Oxford,PA in 1820/21 and he died there on 10/10/1843. He served in the War of 1812 from Chester Co, married Ann EWING (d/o Wm.EWING & Margaret PATTERSON) of Little Britian Twp. in 1816, he was Oxford's First Burgess, was a store owner in town, a farmer, a teacher (Hopewell Academy or maybe Oxford Seminary?) and a leading man in legal and religious (Presbyterian) matters. So, I feel something must have been written about him when he died. I know that Oxford's main newspaper started sometime after his death. What paper would have written something about him in 1843? Thanks so much for any help!
