Amen to what Sandy said about inquiring when you find the
house of an ancestor. A cousin did so at the Henry Landis
House in Ringoes New Jersey, was allowed in and took
wonderful photos of the original wooden beams and of the
bedroom where Lafayette stayed when he was ill - the owners
have restored the interior as best they can to its 1750
ambience.

I am posting this to the Chester list as I know I have seen
Landis inquiries on this list. If anyone would be
interested in email copies of the photos email me privately.
Henry's father, Heinrich Hirt Landis, was one of the Church
of the Brethren baptized in Pennsylvania by Alexander Mack
so they have a Pennsylvania history as well.
