ITEM #19902
November 28, 1865
VILLAGE RECORD
Death Notice On Oct. 24th, 1865, at the residence of Mr.
Morse, after a painful illness, Miss SARAH PALMER, aged 26
years. The deceased was a daughter of John Palmer, Esq., of
Chester county, Pa., and sister of J.M. Palmer, Esq., ex Mayor
of Council Bluffs. She has resided among us for several years,
and wherever known was universally esteemed. Having long been
connected with our Public Schools in the capacity of Teacher,
beloved by her scholars, hundreds of little faces are made sad
by her disappearance from their midst. For some months
previous to her death, she had been a consistent and exemplary
member of the Presbyterian church, and was a true
christian...Her remains were followed to their last resting
place in Fairview Cemetery by numerous friends, and her true
spirit has returned to God who gave it.

looking for John PALMER and found a reference to a Mary HIBBERD, dau of
Sarah (Bradshaw of Darby) and Moses HIBBERD, who married a John PALMER at
Darby MM in 1758. Also a will of Sarah HIBBERD, widow, Darby dated 9/5/1773
and proved 5/26/1779 in which she gives to her daughter Mary PALMER, the
plantation that son-in-law John PALMER lives on. This mentions dau Hannah
who married Abel MOORE; then a grandson, John PALMER who was under age 21.
Tim had already found Sarah HIBBARD's will, too!

children, Thomas and Elisabeth, from first marriage
> (probably Blandina SAVAGE who had died in 1747) and wife Mary and other
children: Sarah, John, Moses, Aaron, Charles, Hannah and William from second
marriage. These seem to be the grandchildren of Sarah and Moses and
children of John PALMER, since their names include grandparent's and aunt
Hannah' first name.

> I wonder how she (Blandina) got to be a Quaker, when her marriage is shown
to John PALMER in the First Presby Church, Phillie in 10/20/1737? Could it
have been Quaker then? I have noticed an LDS -IGI file showing they were
married in Friends, Phila MM, on 10/20/1737 also, but was sure it was based
on any fact! I have a book on PA Marriages showing them married at the
First Presby Church on the same date! Which one is right?!
>
> Thanks but....The later PALMERS in 1819 are too late for my line! Mary
MORGAN had two brothers: Zanes and Artemis and a sister Blandina MORGAN, all
of Young MORGAN and his wife ?. They were in Phila then in early 1720-30's.
