Greetings
First of all many thanks to those of you responding to my request for a mailing list to cover Coatesville.
The story is this. I have a grand-daughter, Rosie BEAUCHAMP, whose paternal grandmother was Fannie MARGOLES born 28th October 1906 in the USA, but we do not know where. She died in London in 1973.
Fannie's father was Oscar MARGOLES. It is thought that he was born in Lithuania in 1865 and was killed on a Railroad crossing in 1930 and is buried in the Jewish cemetry in Coatesville. Also there is "Margoles, Rachael Leah 1865-1933". Was she his wife?
There were other daughters:-
Ann who married Harry ???
Ida who married Henry SKAROFF and they had Fred and Mal
Ruth who married Max FRIEDBERG
Sarah who married MINKOVSKI

>From Lithuania Oscar went to Spitalfields, London as a silk spinner, possibly then to Manchester, where Sarah was born, and then to the US. I cannot find him in the Ellis Island records of immigrants but they only start in 1892. Are there other records?
There was a Doctor Dave MARGOLES who was something of a patriach.
Oscar's wife may have been called Leah or Rea.
Any suggestions as to how I should proceed would be very welcome.
best regards Allen Whitworth
