It's interesting that the son is referred to as William Jr. Actually, the
father was Jr. and the son was William III. (As mentioned in earlier
messages in this list, suffixes such as Jr. and Sr. were used rather loosely
in those days.)

Another interesting historical point: Contrary to popular belief,
Pennsylvania was not named for "the" William Penn, but for his father
Admiral Sir William Penn.

laid out for Penn, jr, on the west side of Fagg's Manor. This tract was
resurveyed in 1741, and the following is a "list of names of persons who
