Hi everyone - I'm new and I am looking for Carnahans in Old Chester Co. I find John and James in the Octararo/Octorara area in Sadsbury Township in the 1730's. John was a justice of the peace - I don't know how he was appointed or even his age. Nearby was James Carnahan his brother. There is also another person on the tax records that I am wondering about. In 1735, in Londonderry Twp, there is a Jos. Konegan - then in 1737 his apparent widow - Widow Conogan.
I have an Orphan's Court record for John's family when he died in 1738/1739 but it only names three children - I am sure he had more. There is a great deal of information about John in a Church Court in the Octoraro area. I would like to learn more about these families but I may be at a dead-end. If anyone has any information about any Carnahans in Chester County in the 1730 - 1750 time frame - I would appreciate it.

Thanks - Linda

P.S. After Cumberland opened up most of the Carnahans settled there among the Bradys and Jacks.
