I checked the list of Chester landowners for 1689 and the Chester taxables
for 1693 and there are no Hoges.Greggs,etc, of any spelling.
In 1735 a Geo, John and Wm. Hoge were among many that signed a
petition to the King of England....they were all self-described as "People
call'd Quakers". There are also several Greggs on the list of signers;
George, Richard, Samuel, Joseph, George Jr.
I checked the early court records (pre 1710) and there is no mention of
the surname Gregg or Hoge any spelling.

(no early wills for Hoged, or Gregg) the following is the earliest I find.
HOGG, GEORGE. . June 9, 1762. Aston. . Adm. to John Chamberlin.
You may order a copy of the whole will from Records and ARchives - if you
need the address, let me know.
