Here are more wedding announcements. This should be
the final installment. I will start to send the
obituaries soon. I hope this is helping someone with
their research.

Wedding announcement appeared in the Daily Local News
dated 14 September 1894. A copy of the wedding
announcement was located in the newspaper clipping
file at the Chester County Historical Society.
Hayes-Passmore
At two o'clock on Tuesday afternoon next, the
25th inst., J. Carroll Hayes, Esq. of West Chester,
will be married to Miss Louie Passmore, at the home of
her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth B. Passmore, Oxford. The
ceremony, which will be according to the custom of
Friends, will be witnessed by about one hundred
friends and relatives to whom cards have been issued.
Engagement announcement appeared in the Daily Local
News dated 21 July 1917. A copy of the engagement
announcement was located in the newspaper clipping
file at the Chester County Historical Society.
Isaac A. and Annie D. Passmore, of East Bradford,
announce the engagement of their daughter, Marian H.,
to William T. Cope, of East Orange, N. J., formerly of
West Chester, The wedding will occur in the fall.
Wedding announcement appeared in the Daily Local News
dated 25 June 1908. A copy of the wedding

PASSMORE-WOOD WEDDING
The wedding Saturday evening at six o'clock of
Norman Sumner Passmore, of Swarthmore, son of Mrs.
Elizabeth B. Passmore, of Oxford, and Miss Sara E.
Wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Wood, of Ridley
Park, was one of much interest to Oxford people, a
number of whom were among the one hundred and
twenty-five guest who witnesses the plighting of their
troth. The Friends' ceremony was used and many
friends signed the marriage certificate. The Wood
home was very artistically decorated for the gala
occasion, the color scheme being pink, and roses were
in great profusion in carrying out the desired effect.
The bride was beautifully gowned in white satin
and carried a bouquet of sweet peas. She was attended
by her sister, Miss Irvanna Wood, as maid of honor,
and Miss Hughes, of Didley (Ridley) Park, as
bridesmaid. Both were daintily attired in white with
bouquets of sweet peas. Little Misses Margaret and
Ellen Hayes, of West Chester, nieces of the
bridegroom, were flower girls. William McCoy, of West
Chester, was best man and Mr. Wood, of Cumberland,
Md., a brother of the bride, was groomsman.
After the reception and the serving of an
elaborate supper, Mr. and Mrs. Passmore departed on
their honeymoon. Upon their return they will make
their home at Swarthmore, where Mr. Passmore is
employed in the National Bank. They received a number
of beautiful and costly gifts which will be used in
decorating the new home.
Among the guest from Oxford were Mrs. E. B.
Passmore, Hanson P. Passmore and family, George B.
Passmore, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Way, Russellville;
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel H. Broomell.

Passmore-Marshall
At half after one o'clock this afternoon, Mary
H., daughter of ex-County Treasurer Henry Marshall and
his wife, Jane Marshall, will be married to Samuel S.
Passmore, of Mendenhall, son of Edward and Emma
Passmore. It will be in the same room where the elder
daughter was married two years ago to Horace L. Way,
the Master of Pomona Grange.
The house is handsomely decorated with dogwood,
wild azalea, ferns and lilies of the valley.
John L. Balderston, an uncle of the bride, will
read the marriage certificate, and, after a collation,
the bride and groom will disappear, being invisible
until they return for their honeymoon trip to begin
housekeeping in a new house on the bridegroom's home
farm.
Sara S. Passmore, sister of the bridegroom, is
maid of honor and the best man is Lewis H. Marshall,
brother of the bride. The bride will wear soft white
satin with veil entrain, the veil being borrowed from
a cousin to comply with the ancient usage that every
bride must wear something borrowed. The veil will be
caught up with lilies of the valley. She will carry a
shower bouquet of white roses and lilies of the
valley. Her maid of honor will wear pink crepe de
china and carry Killarney roses.
About eighty guests will be present, including
the bridegrooms grandfather, Samuel Sharpless, of
Hockessin, Del. As all members of the company are
well acquainted, ant the weather is ideal,
congratulations are much in order and the young people
begin their new life with every prospect of happiness.
About two weeks ago a household shower was given
them, and to-day many additional gifts were on view,
these delighting the heart of the recipients.

appeared in the Oxford Press dated 19 November 1873.
Both copies of the wedding announcements were found in
the newspaper clipping file at the Chester County
Historical Society. Both announcements are worded the
same.
Marriages
PASSMORE-PUSEY-In West Marlborough, according to the
order of the society of Friends, at the residence of
Joseph Pennock the bride's uncle, R. Haines Passmore,
son of Hon. Benjamin J. Passmore, to Abigail B. Pusey,
daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Pusey,
dec'd.
Wedding announcement appeared in the Daily Local News
dated 9 February 1895. A copy of the wedding
announcement was located in the newspaper clipping
file at the Chester County Historical Society.
Married
PASSMORE-MARTINDALE-In Philadelphia, on First Month
24th, 1895, by Friends' ceremony, R. Haines Passmore,
of West Chester, and Annie L. Martindale, of
Philadelphia.
Wedding announcement appeared in the Daily Local News
dated 4 March 1882. A copy of the wedding
announcement was located in the newspaper clipping
file at the Chester County Historical Society.
PASSMORE-SHARPLESS-On Fourth-day, Second-month 22d, at
the residence of the bride's parents, by Friends'
Ceremony, Edward B. Passmore, of Kennett township,
Chester county, and Emma C., daughter of Samuel
Sharpless, of New Castle county, Delaware.
Wedding announcement appeared in the Daily Local News
dated 6 October 1892. A copy of the wedding
announcement was located in the newspaper clipping
file at the Chester County Historical Society.
Pyle-Passmore
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. M. Hayes, West Chester, are in
Oxford to-day attending the wedding of Miss Ellen
Passmore, daughter of Elizabeth B. Passmore, of
Oxford, and Mr. Fred B. Pyle, son of Robert L. Pyle,
of London Grove. The groom is an architect in
Washington, D. C. The wedding took place at 2 o'clock
at the home of the bride. Among the ushers was Carrol
Hayes, Esq., of West Chester, who was graduated with
the groom and with whom he took a trip to Europe a few
years since.

Passmore-Pusey
The New Garden Friends Meeting House was the
setting for a beautiful summer wedding on Tuesday,
June 17, at four o'clock, when Mary Elizabeth Pusey,
daughter of J. Norman and Alice H. Pusey, of Avondale,
became the bride of J. Harold Passmore, son of Hannah
W. Passmore, of Philadelphia, and the late John W.
Passmore, formerly of West Grove.
Wedding announcement appeared in the Oxford Press
dated 16 October 1902. A copy of the wedding
announcement was located in the newspaper clipping
file at the Chester County Historical Society.
Wickersham-Passmore
The marriage of Hannah A., the daughter of
William and Rachel M. Wickersham, of West Grove, and
John W. Passmore, of Chatham, takes place Thursday at
10 o'clock in the morning in the Orthodox Friends
meeting house, West Grove. A reception from 12 to 4
will be held at the home of the bride's parents.
Wedding announcement appeared in the Village Record
dated 6 March 1866. A copy of the wedding
announcement was located in the newspaper clipping
file at the Chester County Historical Society.
On the 1st instant, at the residence of the
bride's father, by Friends' ceremony, Samuel L.
Martindale, of Cecil county, Md., Mary E., daughter of
Andrew M. Passmore, of Chester county, Pa.
