Thanks for the notes Marj. According to data on the LDS site, the Quaker "Evan Prydderch alias Protheroe" who came to PA was b. about 1650 and was the son of Evan Prydderch b. about 1624. Do you know of any connection between the Quaker Evan and your "Philip Rhytherrach (Rhydderch), or Prothroe"? Was Philip a Quaker? Based on the published data on Evan and the dates in your info, it seems plausible that Philip was Evan's uncle. It is said that Evan changed the family name of his line to Protheroe, I wonder if his kinfolk did the same? I have found Protheros in Indiana Co., PA up to recent times - I wonder which branch this might be.

I have found one additional reference to Evan Prothero [PA Archives, Colonial Records, Vol. 1, pp. 437-8, as found at www.iarchives.com] - he is listed by Nathaniell Mullinax on Feb. 7, 1693-4, in a document given to the Provincial Council in Philadelphia, as a client of his alledgedly illegal ferry service across the Schuylkill River between the Welsh Tract and Philadelphia proper (Mullinax further said that "most of the people of Harford & Marion [Haverford & Merion], and some of darbie imployed and hyred him). The others who made it onto the list were:
