Yes Ben!

I show that Augustus P. was a son of William SHENEMAN (b. 4/2/1823) and Susanna HARTSEL/HARTSELL (b 1827). William Sheneman was son of Zacharias/Rees SHENEMAN and Julia Ann JONES. In the 1860 Census, Julia A. was living with William and Susanna in Upper Uwchlan, was shown as 'a lady', age 65, but was a widow then. William was shown as a farmer, age 37, born PA. Susanna age 33, Augustus was age 5. There were 4 other brothers and sisters of Augustus: John Elwood, age 9, Geo. Francis age 8, Sarah Julia age 4, and Mary Erma age 2.
Rees Sheneman had died in 6/5/1849. Both he and JuliAnn are buried at St Matthews Cemetery. She died 8/21/1865.

You are right about several Sheneman's being buried at that cemetery. Rees was a millright, farmer and innkeeper, died in Pikeland. There is something about him having an inn or hotel, etc. in Philadelphia.

Zacharias/Rees Sheneman was a son of Benjamin Sheneman and Anna Maria REIS/RICE.
There are also some Sheneman's at St Peter's in Pikeland.

Would love any help you can give me on the other children of Benjamin and Anna Maria, esp sons John and Jacob.

Thanks for your note...

I don't know if this helps you much, but in my tree I have an Augustus
Paul Sheneman(1855-1932)who lived in the area of Lionville(Uwchlan) or
West Pikeland. He Married Rachel Price Cooper, who was a Grand daughter
of my fourth Great Grandfather, Charles Coulter. I really haven't
researched the Shenemans much, but I do recall seeing many Sheneman
gravestones in my travels. If memory serves, I think that some are at
the old St. Matthew's on rt. 401. Please let me know if I can help you.
One thing that I've learned is that I've had to re-visit the cemeteries
every time I break down a brick wall!

Diana: sorry I have no info on the Sheneman (etc.) family. However, I
am intrigued by Elizabeth SHENEMAN b 21 Jan 1795, buried St. Peter's in
Pikeland, who married Peter SNYDER, b 17 Jun 1792. Do you have any
information on their (possible) children? I have a John W. SNYDER b
1833 in Schuylkill Township, d 1901 in Schuylkill and buried in Grove
Methodist Cem in West Whiteland, and believe he is son of a Peter SNYDER
married to Elizabeth b 1794, but my info so far is that her name was
WHITESIDE, so this may be a different Peter and Elizabeth. Just don't
want to leave any stone unturned...Thanks. Judy

Thanks anyone...
