Hi GerriAnn,

Joseph WILCOX wrote a book "Ivy Mills, 1729-1866:Willcox and Allied
Families" which is available at HERITAGEQUESTONLINE.
You can check with your local library to see if they subscribe to this. If
so, you might be able to access it from home. The book details the
relationship between the Philadelphia and NC branches of the Wilcox family.
The Ivy Mills Wilcoxes ran a paper-making company. They were Roman
Catholics, and the NC branch brought their children back to Philadelphia to
be baptized by that church. I don't recall "HALL" in the book, but at least
one William Hall appears to have been Catholic, per this marriage record;
perhaps William is related to your Samuel Hall.:

A famous Wilcox marriage was that between John Wilcoxson (1720-1782, son of
George Wilcox of Ivy Mills and Elizabeth Powell) and Sarah BOONE (Daniel
Boone's sister). Sarah's father, the hitherto Quaker Squire Boone, was
reprimanded by the Quakers for allowing his daughter to marry-out-of-unity.
This is given as one of the reasons Squire Boone left Berks Co. PA and
resettled in NC. Maybe you'll find a connection between the Boone's and the
Hall family in PA and NC.

Hope this helps.
Laura

Willcock, Willcox, Wilcox, Willcoxen, Willcockson. Has anyone seen the
Wellcock family name while researching the Chester Co area? I would
appreciate any help locating Elisabeth's family.
