Did your Carroll ancestors come to this country in the 1700's as indentured servants? I have just returned from the Seattle library with copies of the pages of Carrolls who were runaway servants from PA, DE, MD and NJ for whom a reward was advertised for their return to their masters. There are listed about two dozen Carrolls. I'll be glad to do lookups ... The book is "Runaway Servants, Convicts and Apprentices Advertised in the Pennsylvania Gazette, 1728-1796, by Farley Grubb.
