Hi Richard,
Not sure how long it has been there but there is a cemetery closer to the property at New Street and General Howe road than Rosedale ave. It is the Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery which is about 1/8 mile south (as the crow flies) on Birmingham Road.
Hope this helps,
Dawn

Mary Huey Entriken's parents, immigrants William (abt 1700-1754)and Genet
Huey, are my ancestors. Their 125 acre farmstead was on South New Street,
about 1/2 mile south of Rosedale Avenue just over the township line into
Westtown Township. The remnants (a couple stone walls) of the Huey home are
still there at the corner of New St and Gen Howe. The neighboring property,
closer to Rosedale was the Entriken farm.

The immigrant Hueys were thought to be Presbyterians although many
descendant joined the Quakers.

So, what I am searching for is William and Genet's place of burial. I have
assumed that they were buried on their property but with a cemetery 'just up
the street' on Rosedale I thought I would explore what information was
available.

I was told that Mary Huey Entriken's remains were removed when the Rosedale
cemetery was abandoned to Greenmount Cemetery on Matlack Street.

Subject: [PaOldC] unknown Quaker cemetery

There is at least one preson who is researching the name Entriken, on
this list, and hopefully they'll be able to help you out.
What is it you're really searching for...the name of the cemetery?
if there are extant cemetery records? where Mary Huey Entriken ended up
being buried? or, information on Mary Huey Entriken in general. Some of
us might be able to help with some of these possibilites, but not others, so

it's helpful to know what, exactly, you hope to find.
Have you checked with the CCHS in West Chester, to see if they can be of

assistance? I'm sure someone there might well be familiar with a cemetery
located in town. I think, in general, Quaker burying grounds were
affiliated with meetings, so perhaps it would help to determine what Quaker

meeting was located nearby.
I'm including Mary's mother's will, below, in case you don't have
it....lists a lot of family members.

As you included little info on Mary, I can't know if this is "your" Mary or
not, but will include it, just in case it is.....(Mary seems to have been a
common name in the Enterkin family!)

"What is the name of the Quaker cemetery on Rosedale Avenue, West Chester,
that was abandoned many years ago? Are there records of burials there? I
understand the Mary Huey Entriken (b 1735) was buried there and then
removed."
