I hope there isn't confusion between the Great Valley Baptist Church and the
Radnor (Quaker) Meeting house. Baptists, Methodists, perhaps othes, often
called their early "churches" Meeting Houses - the Quakers still do. The
Great Valley Baptist Church (official name: Baptist Church in the Great
Valley) has a good website at www.bcgv.org with some history; was founded in
1711 and is located in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County. Good "Roots in
Wales" info under Links, with picture of Rhydwilym Baptist Chapel from which
members came to found the BCGV.
There MIGHT be BCGV church records in John H. Humphrey's Penna Births,
Chester County, 1682-1800, which is at the Chester County Archives, probably
the Chester County Historical Society, and available for "look ups" at the
chesco site at pa-roots. (I don't have a copy and it's been awhile since
I've looked at it)
The Radnor Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (website:
www.quaker.org/radnor/index.html) founded circa 1693 is in Radnor Township,
now Delaware county (but Del Co once part of Chester Co). Its present
building was built in 1718, and had a couple of additions since then (plus
electricity, heat, and a/c, thank goodness for those of us who belong!)

I can tell you only that my 3rd great grandfather Richard Jones preached at
Great Valley (his diary) for about five years between 1800-1805 after his
arrival from Wales.

Keywords: Great Valley Baptist Church will take you to their website. They
have some general history posted and map. I have reference to a picture of
the old meeting house that was torn down when the church was built in 1805
but the website appears to have been removed. It was called the Artists
conception of the Meeting House at Radnor. Radnor was the township name.

Does anyone know where to find the records for the Great Valley church?
before 1800?
