There are 2 Sterling in PA - One in Clearfield Co and one in Wayne Co PA.......neither in Chester CO.

Do you have an age for him, a wife's name, etc......maybe on a census somewhere?

Naturalizations are kept in the Prothonotary Office of each county.
Chester Co has an index for 1798-1935...but he is not on it.

So maybe you could check with the county that he lived in. The Prothonotary Office is part of the county Govt.

Sandra,
I recieved this info from a cousin after I had sent the first email:

(William Lancaster b. Ireland) came to Sterling,Pa in 1816 but from where I
don't
know. Does any one know how I could go about finding his naturalization
papers?

So suposedly 1800 - 1816- 1830?

Thank you
Nelda
