There are several Wm Maulsbys in Phil Co.....(It's such an unusual name that
I"m including them, in case they 'fit' later. The only mention of the name
I find in Chester wills is a Margaret, as will witness in 1774. I looked in
a book I have on York Co records, and find only one mention of the
surname...it's a Wm, who apparently was a member of the Warrington
meeting...a marriage took place at his home in Newberry, in Dec. of 1776.
I found another spelling of the name....Maultsby... A Wm Maultsby is listed
as a freeman in the Chester tax list, 1715...this is the twp of Chester

Hannah. Exec.: brother Morris Maulsby. Children: Barnaby, William and
Elizabeth. Witnesses: John Pluckrose, John Govett and Michael Brown. (Q:230)

Edd'y] Stearn. Exec: Morris Maulsby, Anthony Cook.Wit: Jacob Gilbart,
Meshelemiah Alloway.

Here's a John that died in Phil Co ca 1807;
MAULSBY, JOHN. Northern Liberties, City of Philadelphia. September 17,1805.
June 1, 1807. 2.113.Bequeaths to dau. Elizabeth Dickerson, land and
buildings in Budd St. with all my personal property after death of her
mother, and my present wife (name not mentioned). Exec: Dau. Elizabeth and
my friend Daniel Doughty. Witnesses: Joseph Sutton, Francis Turner.

" Looking for info on John Maulsby born abt 1735 Montgomery Pa died abt
1809 Jefferson County Pa, married Lydia Johns abt 1766 at the Natmeal MM
Chester, had William Maulsby abt 1774 York County Pa. William Maulsby
married Mary Cox; I would like to know their children and their names."
