Subject: [PaOldC] Thanks for advice on Philly trip
Date: Wed, 16 May 2007 14:15:59 -0400
List,
I want to thank each and every one of you who sent e-mails with advice on my trip to Philadelphia. Wow----they will be most useful. I have printed each e-mail out and plan to use them for further reference.
I have about six weeks until my trip, so I will certainly get the maps suggested by Sandra and others.
I have decided I will drive to Philadelphia-----I live in Cincinnati. I know traffic will be difficult in the city, but I am used to it. I have been to Philly only a couple of times and those were with tour groups. I have seen the traditional tourist places such as Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, etc. I don't believe I have ever been to Chester County except to Brandywine Battlefield.
I want to focus mainly on Quaker records and places in Chester County, so I will heed all the good advice about contacting the historical societies and libraries ahead of schedule.
Please if any of you think of any thing else that would be helpful to me, I would welcome your input.
Thanks again, you sure are a great bunch of researchers and very helpful.
Janice
