Speaking as one who had this surname in her ancestry, I can tell you there
are other possible spellings to watch for, too...I've run scross Batey,
Beatey and Beatty, too....same family.
There was a William Beaty, listed as a farmer renting his land in
1753, Sadsbury, so that might tie-in with the Boyds..
The 1765 Chester Archives'
William Beaty...owned 100 acres in W. Fallowfield
Wm, Beaty who lived in Upper Province, but owned no land
William Beatty owned 100 acres in New London
(No John Boyd in this 1765 archives)
Here's a set of adm. papers (no will), but they might prove
interesting...I would imagine that this could well be the father of Wm
Beatty, married to Francis Boyd.;
BEATTY, WILLIAM. .January 16, 1752.Adm. to William & Francis Beatty.
( a copy of these papers is available from Records and Archives....there
address is included on the Chester Co site, under local resources.)
This I"d think, are the adm. papers for John Boyd, who 'could be' father
of Francis Boyd Beatty
BOYD, JOHN. October 2, 1750. Adm. to Lettice & Robert Boyd.
This may not fit but I'll include it because of the comments on Wm Beatty in
Va

l"ooking for info on William/Billy BEATY born about 1720-30. He may have
been the William BEATY who was living in West Fallowfield in 1763 and was
married to Frances BOYD, daughter of John & Letice BOYD of Sadsbury.
