Steve,
This is probably the place you are thinking of:
The David Library of the American Revolution
P.O. Box 748
1201 River Road
Washington Crossing, PA 18977
(215) 493-6776; Fax: (215) 493-9276
email address:
website: http://dlar.libertynet.org/index.html
Though located in the town of Washington Crossing, the David Library is a
private institution and is not associated with Washington Crossing Park,
where the annual Christmas Day Crossing of the Delaware River reenactment
takes place.
Among other things, the David Library has the entire Revolutionary War
Pension Application and Bounty Land Warrant Files; Compiled Service Records;
Early American Orderly Books; Naval Records Collection; Quartermasters'
Returns; Forbes Headquarters Papers; New Jersey Revolutionary War Service
Records; and U.S. Numbered Record Books Concerning Military Operations. Of
general interest is their collection of newspapers from the 18th & 19th
centuries.
Closed Suns., Mons. and holidays, admission is free but they recommend an
appointment to guarantee access to a microfilm reader. See their website for
much more information.
