Subject: [SO.PHILLY] Louis KIRCHER and friends August and Henry VIERICK
Date: Fri, 25 Apr 2003 06:13:15 EDT
Hello everyone!
I found my great great grandfather Louis KIRCHER on the 1870 United
States Census.
He is listed with family members, but unfortunately the 1870 census did not
list the relationship to the head of household. Maybe someone out there can
make a connection and help me take my family back a little bit farther. Here
is the census info...they lived in Philadelphia, PA.
C. F. KIRCHER age 49 bread baker born in Germany
Ella L age 27 keeping house born in PA.
Charles L age 10 born in PA.
Thomas age 8 born in PA
Mary age 3 born in PA
Lewis (Louis) age 38 bread baker born in Germany
Frederick age 25 bread baker born in Germany
Louis KIRCHER served in the Civil War with the 29th New York Infantry
Company C. He and a friend he met in the service, August VIERICK, moved to
Philadelphia, PA. only a few days after being discharged from the service.
I have (copies) signed statements from August and Henry VIERICK
stating just how long they knew my great great grandfather and what they knew
of him so that he could collect a Civil War Invalid Pension. If anyone is
interested I can forward you the images of the signed papers.
Happy searching,
Ella
