Joseph Adamson

Waynesburg, Feb 29 - Joseph Adamson, one of the best known of Morgan Township
died yesterday afternoon at his home at Lippencott following an illness
covering a period of 18 months. Death was a result of a complication of
diseases. His decline was gradual and his death was not unexpected.

Mr. Adamson was a son of the late Thomas and Mary Hoge Adamson and was born
in Morgan Township where he spent his entire life. He was 72 years old. Mr.
Adamson, for many years was a post master at Lippencott where he also
conducted a general store. He also followed farming.

He was a member of the Baptist Church and form many year held the office of
trustee of the church. When able he always took an active part in church
work. In politics he was a democrate and always took an active interest in
the affairs of the party. He held the office of School Director for a number
of years and also Justice of the Peace for two terms.
He was married to Miss Mary Bell who survives and who for many years has been
an invalid. Beside the wife, two sons, John B. Adamson and Henry L. Adamson,
and one daughter, Mrs. Samuel Taylor, all of Lippencott survive. One brother,
Smith Adamson, of Morgan Township and the last of a family of four children
also survives. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 'clock.
The services will be conducted at the Adamson home. Interment will be in the
Jefferson cemetery.
