ZIEGLER, CAMPBELL, BAIER, JENKINS, MCELHANY, OVERTON, YOUNGER, BARTLEY,
HAMEL

Mrs. Ruby MOORE ZIEGLER, 51, wife of Elmer D. ZIEGLER, of R. D. 2,
McDonald, died suddenly Monday, January 16, 1961.
A daughter of the late Harry and Mattie O'HERRON MOORE, Mrs. ZIEGLER was
born December 29, 1909, in North Fayette Township.
She was a member of the First U. P. Church and the Golden Link Class,
McDonald. She had resided in Burgettstown and was an elementary school
teacher there before moving to the McDonald area. She had taught the third
grade in Champion School, North Fayette Township, for the past 14 years.
Mrs. ZIEGLER was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of Ernest Phillips Post
No. 485, American Legion, and Order of the Eastern Star, McDonald; the
National Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association,
Allegheny County Branch, PSEA, Area 3; and West Allegheny Education
Association; chairman of the ethics committee of West Allegheny Schools; an
active member of Champion Parent-Teacher Association, and a member of
several other committees.
Surviving besides her husband are two brothers, John MOORE of Hanlin
Station, and Melvin MOORE of Oakdale; and a sister, Mrs. Carlisle PHILLIS of
Burgettstown.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Pettit funeral
home, McDonald, in charge of the Rev. Samuel E. GLASS, pastor of the First.
U. P. Church, McDonald, and the Rev. A. R. ARMSTRONG, pastor of the
Parnassus U. P. Church, New Kensington. Burial will be in Robinson's Run
cemetery.

Mrs. Lillie WALLACE CAMPBELL, 67, of McDonald, died Tuesday, January 17,
1961, in the Washington hospital following a brief illness.
A daughter of the late James E. and Elizabeth FINNEY WALLACE, she was born
October 10, 1893, in Midway, where she had been a resident for 59 years.
She had made her home for the fast four months with her son, Garland E.
CAMPBELL, in Valley street, McDonald. She was a member of Center U. P.
Church, Midway.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth CHAPPO of Canonsburg, and
Mrs. Wanda M. KENECO of Pittsburgh; three sons, John J. CAMPBELL and Ronald
L. CAMPBELL of Coraopolis; and Garland E. CAMPBELL of McDonald. There are
seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her husband, Lawrence H.
CAMPBELL, died in 1944.
Friends will be received at the Rogers funeral home, McDonald, where
services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in charge of the Rev. John
SHEPARD, pastor of Robinson's Run U. P. Church, McDonald. Burial will be in
Center cemetery, Midway.

Mrs. Marie MCCALL BAIER, 60, wife of Fred C. BAIER, died at 10:00 p.m.
Friday, January 13, 1961, in her home in Bridgeville.
Mrs. BAIER was born May 17, 1900, in Sturgeon. Before moving to
Bridgeville, she had been a resident of McDonald for 20 years. Mrs. BAIER
was a member of St. Agatha R. C. Church and the Altar Society.
Surviving besides her husband, are five sisters, Mrs. Harvey SCHUMACHER of
Muse, Mrs. Chester UNICAFER of Ingram, Mrs. Sally HEALEY of Coraopolis, Mrs.
Agnes MCNALLY of Sheraden, and Mrs. Clarence GEISE of Orange, N. J.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in St. Alphonsus R.C. Church,
McDonald, in charge of the Rev. Fr. James R. CULLEN. Burial was in
Resurrection cemetery.

Mrs. Betty Jean CRAIG JENKINS, 59, died Wednesday, January 11, 1961, in the
Mercy hospital, shortly after being admitted.
A daughter of the late Samuel B. and Clara M. CRAIG, she was born August 4,
1901, in the United Presbyterian manse in Noblestown. On August 25, 1922
she was united in marriage with Dr. T. C. Jenkins. He died September1926.
Mrs. JENKINS was a member of the Noblestown United Methodist Church and had
been secretary-treasurer of the Woman's Society of Christian Service for a
number of years.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Tallie Jean SKINTEK of Noblestown; five
sisters, Miss Mabel Helen CRAIG and Mrs. Esther BOYNES of Noblestown, Mrs.
Grace E. FEICK of Mt. Lebanon, Mrs. Marion C. HOFMANN of Rosslyn Farms,
Mrs. Ruth C. KERN of Brookline; and a brother, Harold L. CRAIG of
Noblestown. There are three grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Dorothy
WASHABAUGH, died in April, 1957.
Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon in the Thomas funeral
home, Oakdale, in charge of the Rev. Homer WEAVER, pastor of the Noblestown
Methodist Church. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery.

Mrs. Flora CASE MCELHANY of Fannie street, McDonald, died Sunday, January
15, 1961, in the Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh.
A daughter of John and Elizabeth COTTLE CASE, Mrs. MCELHANY was born
September15, 1887, in McDonald, where she had resided all her life. She was
the wife of the late John S. MCELHANY. She was a member of the First
Presbyterian church, McDonald; and the Auxiliary to Ernest Phillips Post.
No. 485, American Legion, McDonald.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. John MCVICKER of McDonald, and Mrs. Arthur
LOUTZENHISER of Lorain, Ohio; and a son, Curtis MCELHANY of Bridgeville.
There are seven grandchildren. A son, Clifford, died in 1931.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Pettit funeral home,
McDonald, in charge of the Rev. Edward R. DELAIR, pastor of the First
Presbyterian Church, McDonald. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery.

Mrs. Sarah OVERTON, 88, of Johnston street, McDonald, died Thursday
morning, January 12, 1961, in the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. James
SCOTT, McDonald, after an illness of several weeks.
She had resided in McDonald for the past 45 years and was a member of the
First Baptist Church, McDonald.
Surviving are two sons, Henry COLEMAN of McDonald, and James COLEMAN of
Washington. There are 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and ten
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon in the First Baptist
Church, McDonald, in charge of the Rev. W. T. FOSTER. Burial was in Center
cemetery, Midway.


Mrs. Anna GATUS, a resident of Bulger for the past 50 years, diet at 12:50
a.m. Friday, January 13, 1961, in the Washington hospital following a
one-week illness.
She was born February 18, 1879, in Poland and came to the United States at
the age of 18. She had resided n Pittsburgh and McDonald for several years
before moving to Bulger.
Mrs. GATUS was a member of St. Ann's R. C. Church, Bulger
Surviving are a daughter, Stella, the wife of Fred DALVERNY of Bulger; four
sons, Joseph and Stanley, both at home; Walter of Burgettstown; and Zarre of
Bulger. There are eight grandchildren. Her husband, John GATUS died in
1915.
Funeral services were held Monday morning in St. Ann's R.C. Church, Bulger
in charge of the Rev. Fr. Joseph SULLIVAN. Burial was in Our Lady of
Lourdes cemetery, Burgettstown.

Bernice Haywood YOUNGER, Sr., 80, died, Thursday, January 12, 1961, in the
home of his daughter, Mrs. M. A. YOLTON in R.D. 1, Imperial. He had been in
failing health for the past two years.
A son of Charles and Martha YOUNGER, he was born February 9, 1880, in North
Carolina. He was a painter by trade and had resided in the Imperial
vicinity the past 22 years. His wife, Sadie E. ALSTON YOUNGER, died in
1959.
He is survived by a son, B. H. YOUNGER, Jr., of Quinby, Va., and three
daughters, Mrs. Isabel NEWBAUER of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Florence ERICKSSON
and Mrs. Jean YOLTON, both of R. D. 1, Imperial. There are ten
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Moody funeral home,
Clinton, in charge of the Rev. James. KARCHER, pastor of Hebron Presbyterian
Church, Clinton. Burial was in South Side cemetery.


John BARTLEY, 38, of Imperial, died Saturday, January 7, 1961, in the
Veterans' hospital, Oakland.
He was the son of the late Frank and Blanche BARTLEY.
He is survived by his wife, Helen KUKALINSKY BARTLEY; and two daughters,
Diana and Kathleen.
Military funeral services, in charge of the Rev. Raymond TOUVELL, pastor of
the Valley Presbyterian Church, Imperial, were held January 11 in the
Wharton funeral home, Imperial. Burial was in Valley cemetery.

Mrs. Elizabeth MCROBERTS HAMEL, 75, of Castle Shannon, mother of Milton E.
HAMEL of Upper St. Clair Township, formerly of McDonald, died Saturday,
January 14, 1961.
Besides her husband, Edward HAMEL, Sr., and son Milton, she leaves two
other sons, two daughters, four sisters, a brother, and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon with burial in Jefferson
Memorial cemetery.
