“Jenner Township Woman Dies Thurs, In Johnstown Hos.

Mrs. Lydia (CARNS) BERKEY, aged 57 years, and wife of Clarence G. BERKEY, of Jenner township, passed away at the Memorial hospital, Johnstown at 4:20 am on Thursday of last week [Feb. 3]. Mrs. BERKEY had been in ill health for the past several months. A daughter of Edward and Nettie (NAUGLE) CARNS, the deceased was born in Westmoreland county. She was united in marriage with Mr. BERKEY on April 4, 1912. Mrs. Berkey was a member of the Christian Church, at Laughlintown. She was well known in the Jenner township section and had many warm friends in that section to all of whom her death came as a profound shock. In addition to her husband, the deceased is survived by the following brothers and sisters: John, Erie; James and Barron, Latrobe; Mrs. Jessie DIXON, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Goldie McFARLAND, and Mrs. Mae WITT, Greensburg; and Cora, Ligonier. Funeral services for Mrs. BERKEY were conducted on Saturday [Feb. 5] in the Christian church, Laughlintown, by the Rev. Edward A!
. Deidermeier. Interment was made in the church cemetery, under the direction of the Joseph H. Hoffman funeral home, this place.”
