Feb. 27, 1897 McDonald PA Outlook
On the 24th, Louis HANS, aged 17 years.
Deceased came to his death by a slate fall in Nickelplate mine. The
Outlook's French correspondent thus reports the sad occurrence: "A stone
weighing 150 pounds fell on the boy's neck and broke it. He died in three
minutes. He was the oldest of a family of six children. It was very sad to
see the five younger children crying beside their dead brother. Louis was a
"scraper" with David OLIVER."
On the 17th, Mrs. Julia MEAD, aged 78 years.
Mrs. MEAD was a member of the Baptist Church of Wayland, Pa., where she

afflictions, having buried a husband and three children. She was at all
times self-forgetful in her sympathy for others. Two daughters are
left-Mrs. QUINETTE, of New Orleans, and Mrs. MCNAMARA, of Wayland.
