Miss Mary FHY died at noon Friday, January 18, 1924, at her home in
Oakdale, following a lingering illness. Miss FHY was born near Bridgeville,
but had lived for many years in Oakdale. She is survived by her sister,
Mrs. Mattie STEWART of Oakdale, and by a brother, Joseph FHY of the State of
California. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, conducted by
the Rev. W. V. GROVE, pastor of the Noblestown United Presbyterian church.
Interment was in the Union cemetery.
After a lingering illness Emile H. VERNET, son of Emile and Mary FARAND
VERNET of Treveskyn, died at the Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh, Friday evening,
January 18, 1924 at five o'clock. He was 28 years of age. Emile was a
brother of Marshall J. VERNET of Sturgeon who was grief stricken as he had
laid his beloved wife to rest earlier in the day. Funeral services were
held from the family home in Treveskyn on Monday afternoon at two o'clock.
Interment was in the Robinson's Run cemetery.
Mrs. E. D. BRADEN, aged 55 years, ten months and nineteen days, died at
nine o'clock Saturday morning, January 19, 1924. Mrs. BRADEN was born March
1, 1868, in Appomattox, Va. She came north and was married in 1885 to F. S.
HARVEY. Her husband died seven years ago. They had two children, both are
dead. In 1919 she was united to E. D. BRADEN in McDonald. She was a member
of the First Baptist church, Eastern Star, Household of Ruth, and Daughters
of Elks. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lee LYNCH. Funeral services
were held in the First Baptist church at McDonald at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday
afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Mr. HOOE, the Rev. Mr. SALLIE of New
Kensington, and the Rev. W. M. WOODSON of Wellsville, Ohio. Interment was
made in the Robinson's Run cemetery.
Miss Mary Mathilda LAND passed away at the home of her brother, Squire
George LAND, in Oakdale, at 1:10 o'clock Friday morning, January
18, 1924, after having been an invalid for the past twenty-five years. She
was born in Canonsburg, Pa., May 31, 1837, a daughter of the late George and
Phoebe M. Land of Canonsburg. For the past forty years she had been a
resident of Allegheny county. Miss LAND received her education in the
Canonsburg schools. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Clara V. EVANS, wife of W.
J. EVANS, the McDonald tinner, and one brother, George LAND, with whom she
lived. Funeral services were held on Sabbath afternoon at 2:30 o'clock,
conducted by the Rev. W. R. MCMUNN. Interment was in the Oakdale cemetery.
Miss LAND's six nephews, George R., Robert E., Clarence M., Charles W., and
William R. LAND and Morris W. EVANS, were the pallbearers.
Ray JOHNSTON received word of the death of his sister Katherine JOHNSTON at
the West Penn Hospital of pneumonia on Tuesday morning.

Mrs. Mary Katherine EISENHEIMER, wife of George EISENHEIMER, died Friday,
January 18, 1924, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jacob ROHDE, of a
paralytic stroke. She was aged 76 years, 9 months and 18 days. Mrs.
EISENHEIMER was born in Germany March 31, 1847. She came to this country 43
years ago and had lived in Midway 38 years. She was a member of the Baptist
church here and is survived by her husband George EISENHEIMER, three
daughters, Mrs. Jacob ROHDE and Mrs. Elizabeth POWELSON of this place and
Mrs. Wilson HOLMES of Primrose. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren and
nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist
church Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. G. W. SCARBERRY,
who was assisted by the Rev. J. H. DEBOLT of McDonald. Interment was in
Center cemetery.
