HOLMES, MOTTE, MCBRIDE, GIBSON
Mrs. Sarah J. HOLMES, widow of Seth HOLMES, died Tuesday at her home in
Washington, Pa., after an illness of 14 months. She was 62 years of age and
had made her home in Washington since her removal from Oakdale nine years
ago. The husband died on June 20 of the present year. Two daughters, Mrs.
F. A. VEZIE and Mrs. J. H. SMITH, both of Washington, survive. The funeral
services were held Thursday afternoon and interment was made in Washington
cemetery.
Alfred, Jr., the thirteen-month-old child of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred MOTTE of
Belgian Hill, died on September 13 of cholera infantum. Interment was made
at Hilldale on Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. W. D. IRONS, D. D. conducted the
funeral services.
Mrs. Elizabeth MCBRIDE died early Friday morning, September 10, 1909, at
her home in Coraopolis, Pa., after a long illness. She is survived by three
sons and four daughters, as follows; Bert MCBRIDE of California, Wilson and
Fred MCBRIDE of Coraopolis, Pa., Mrs. Martha MOORE of near Bavington, Pa.,
Mrs. Myrtle MCCONNELL of Imperial, Pa., R. D. 2, Mrs. Blanche MCCONNELL of
near Bockton, Pa., and Miss Minnie MCBRIDE at home. Funeral services were
held September 12, 1909, at 1 o'clock in Robinson Church. Interment in
Robinson cemetery.
The Rev. J. D. GIBSON was absent from his pulpit Sabbath, being called to
conduct the funeral services of Mrs. Barbara BITNER of Brighten Road,
Allegheny. Mrs. BITNER is the mother of Mrs. C. J. NEWCOMB, a former
resident here
