CHISMAN, BIGGER

Mrs. Anna CHISMAN, wife of William CHISMAN, died at her home on Valley
street, Friday evening, September 17, aged 59 years. The decease had been
ill of rheumatism for some time and succumbed to an attack of heart failure.
Mrs. CHISMAN was born in England where she was married to Mr. CHISMAN,
December 21, 1870. Thirty years ago they came to America ad located in
McDonald eight years later, and have resided here ever since. Besides her
husband, Mrs. CHISMAN is survived by an adopted son Henry. The funeral was
held on Monday afternoon, the Rev. W. D. IRONS, D. D. officiating.
Interment was made in Robinson's Run cemetery.

James W. BIGGER, one of the most prominent and respected citizens of
Robinson township, died at his home near Bavington on Tuesday morning,
September 21, 1909, at 7 o'clock, in his 81st year. James W. BIGGER was the
second son of Samuel BIGGER and was born in Robinson township November 30,
1828. His father was also a native of Robinson township and his
grandfather, Thomas BIGGER, was a native of Ireland who came to Hickory,
this county, shortly after his marriage, settling on a piece of land which
belonged to George WASHINGTON but was then in court. His rights were soon
established and Mr. and Mrs. BIGGER moved to Robinson township, to the farm
still in the BIGGER family. James W. BIGGER was united in marriage to Sarah
H., daughter of the late Richard DONALDSON of Hanover township, January 1,
1857. She died June 5, 1891.
The following children survive: Isaac D. and Richard BIGGER, who lived
with and cared for their father during the past two years; John BIGGER of
Robinson township; Dr. William BIGGER of Bentleyville; Walker BIGGER of
Donora; Mrs. John MCBRIDE of Ingram; Mrs. Murry NICHOL of Grove City. One
daughter, Mrs. James R. WILSON is deceased.
Two brothers and four sisters survive, as follows; Matthew BIGGER of
Robinson township; the Rev. Samuel BIGGER of New York state; Mrs. Jeanette
BIGGER and Mrs. Anna EWING of Robinson township; Mrs. Richard DONALDSON of
Wilkinsburg; Mrs. James DONALDSON of Pittsburg.
The funeral was held from his late residence, Thursday afternoon
