MILLER, LAGRAND, RICHARDS, HENTIG, GAULT, BAUMANN, DUBOIS, CLIFFORD,

Wayne McCormick MILLER died Friday morning, January 8, 1915,
after a few months' illness of acute myelitis. Mr. MILLER came here in
November, accompanied by his wife and child to spend Thanksgiving with his
sister, Mrs. Dr. S. G. MOORE. He was born in Dilliner, Greene County Pa.,
thirty-six years ago, and was a son of the late George G. MILLER. He was a
graduate of the West Virginia University, having completed his course in
1906 and spent some time afterwards with the West Kentucky Coal Company at
Sturgis, Ky., and later with the Colorado Iron and Fuel Company at Trinidat,
Colo. At the time of taking sick he was in the employ of the Fairmont
Mining and Machine Company. He was a faithful member of the Christian
Church and also of the Masonic lodge. Mr. MILLER was a young man of
sterling qualities and excellent character and was liked by all with whom he
came in contact. Short services were conducted at the residence Mrs. MOORE,
Saturday morning by Reverends BARRON and W. E. CRAIG. The remains were
shipped on the 2:30 train Saturday to Sturgis, Ky., for interment. He is
survived by a wife and child, his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth MILLER, three
sisters, Mrs. S. G. MOORE of this city, Mrs. J. B. SMITH of McDonald, Pa.,
Mrs. Stella SMITH of Morgantown, W. Va., and one brother, Dr. W. D. MILLER

At 7 o'clock Monday morning occurred the death of Emma, the
four-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John LAGRAND of Belgian Hill.
Death was due to pneumonia. Besides the parents one brother survives. The
funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, interment being in Hilldale cemetery.
Crushed by falling slate in the Jumbo mine that did not touch
his father, who was working only four feet from him, Thomas Y. RICHARDS,
aged 18 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. James RICHARDS, of West End, was so badly
injured that he died in the Mercy hospital Tuesday night.
The accident occurred Tuesday afternoon about one o'clock. The
mass of rock caught the young man about the middle of the body and it is
supposed injured him internally, besides fracturing a large bone in one leg.
He was rushed to the hospital but lived only a short time after arriving
there.
Besides the parents, four sisters and two brothers survive.
Funeral services will be held at the RICHARDS home Saturday
afternoon at 3 o'clock and will be conducted by Dr. W. D. IRONS. The
interment will be in Robinson's Run cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. C. R. BALLARD and Miss Vine SPRUNG attended the
funeral of the former's sister, Mrs. A. S. HENTIG at Emsworth Tuesday.

GAULT of Erie. She was a former resident of Primrose.

Henry HOLLAND and Ferdinand GILLES attended the funeral of Mrs. William
BAUMANN at Homestead Monday.

Mrs. Julia L. BAUMANN, aged 33 years, ___ of W. H. BAUMANN of
119 West __fth avenue, Homestead, died at her ___ Friday night, January 8,
after a ___ illness. She was born in Midway in _____ and was a daughter of
the late William BROCKMAN and Mary E. BROCKMAN. ... ad been a resident of
Homestead for *1 years and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She is
survived by her husband and five children, also by her mother, Mrs. Mary E.
BROCKMAN, and the following brothers and sister: Charles, ... William,
Clarence, John and Mrs. ___ell GILLES. Funeral services were ...ted at the
family residence Monday ... Interment in Homestead cemetery.

Following an illness of but a few hours John B. DUBOIS, a
well-known Belgium (sic) resident of this place died at 5:30 o'clock Tuesday
morning at his home in Miller St. Mr. DUBOIS was at his work at Jumbo mine
of the Pittsburgh Coal company Monday as usual. He complained of illness in
the evening and during the night rapidly grew worse. Heart trouble was
assigned as the cause of death. The dead man was born in Belgium 61 years
ago and came to America 16 years ago. His wife survives. He was a member
of the Solidarite society. Funeral services were held at the DUBOIS home
Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment was in the Robinson Run
cemetery.

Mrs. Emma CLIFFORD aged 53 years, wife of John CLIFFORD, died at
the CLIFFORD home in Bishop Tuesday morning after an illness caused by
cancer. Three daughters and two sons survive besides the parents. Funeral
services were held at St. Mary's church, Cecil, Friday morning at 9 o'clock.
Interment was in the Roman Catholic cemetery there.

On Thursday morning about 5 o'clock occurred the death of John
the seven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank HAWTHORN of Valley St. Death
was due to spinal meningitis. Funeral services were held at the home Friday
afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment was in the Robinson's Run cemetery.

Mrs. MCELHERRON died at her home here Saturday morning from a
paralytic stroke. She was buried from her late residence Wednesday
afternoon at 2 o'clock. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. MASSER.
Interment was made in the Oakdale cemetery Thursday morning. She is
survived by two children, one daughter, Mrs. Ella VANCE and son Charles
MCELHERRON.
