ORLANDER, SCHEFELBEIN

Mike ORLANDER, 26, was killed and Frank CHRISTY was fatally
wounded during a fight on the public road near Raccoon Sunday night.

Patrick CHRISTY of Raccoon, who is alleged to have done the
shooting, is missing.

The trio had been drinking during the evening at a club and
while on their way home to Raccoon a dispute arose, which led to the
shooting. It is supposed that ORLANDER shot CHRISTY and that CHRISTY's
brother then shot and killed ORLANDER.

What started the trouble is not known. Officers a looking for
Patrick CHRISTY. He and Frank CHRISTY are brothers. The men are coal
miners.

On last Saturday evening, between 9 and 10 o'clock, Karl
SCHEFELBEIN, a native of German, while walking on the Noblestown road near
the MILLER farm, was struck by an automobile and died from the injuries
received before medical aid could reach him.

The driver of the machine and its occupants are unknown, as they
never made any attempt to care for the injured man.

Mr. SCHEFELBEIN boarded at the LYNCH home in Sturgeon and had
been in McDonald during the evening. He was employed at the mines of the
Fayette Coal company and had been in this section for about three months.
Papers were found on his person giving his name and the date of his birth
and also when he came to this country.

Mr. SCHEFELBEIN has a wife and family in Germany. He was 49
years of age and came to America in May, 1912.

Services were held at the HUMPHRIES morgue at four o'clock
Tuesday evening, in charge of Rev. CAVITT, pastor of the Robinson Run U. P.
church.
