MENEILLY, WALKER, CASTNER
Word has been received of the death of James MENEILLY on October
18, 1928, in a hospital in Portland, Oregon. Burial was from the home of
his sister, Mrs. Frank WADSWORTH, Portland, Oregon. He leaves his wife who
was Jennie ADAIR, daughter of Henry ADAIR of Midway.
Mrs. Mary Jane WALKER, age 72, died in the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Morgan ROSS, in Pleasant Valley, near Paris, this county, at 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, October 21, 1928. Death came after a long illness of cancer. Mrs.
WALKER was born August 15, 1856, in Noblestown. Leaving thee she lived for
a time near Eldersville, moving from there to Hancock county, W. Va. Mrs.
WALKER was affiliated with the Hollidays Cove-Weirton Methodist Episcopal
church. The following children survive: Mrs. J. P. RIDDLE of Burgettstown,
Mrs. Morgan ROSS of Pleasant Valley, W. Va., Samuel D. WALKER, Fred WALKER,
Frank WALKER, Claude WALKER, all of Weirton, W. Va., and David WALKER of
Keyport, N. J.
Lawrence CASTNER Jr., 6, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence CASTNER of
Burgettstown, died at one o'clock Friday afternoon, October 26, 1928, in the
Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh, as a result of injuries sustained when hit by an
automobile in Main street, Burgettstown, the afternoon before. It is
understood the boy stepped out from behind another car in front of the
machine driven by Roy BAILEY, employed by the Liberty Grocery store in
Burgettstown. GAILEY was unable to stop the car before striking the boy.
The boy suffered a fractured skull and a broken leg. He never regained
consciousness after being taken to the hospital. BAILEY went to Squire
CULEY in Burgettstown and was released to await the inquest into the child's
death.
