FEDEROFF, KUHN, LIENARD, HINES
Andrew FEDEROFF, 71, of Silver Spring, Md., formerly of
McDonald, died Wednesday, August 3, 1983, in Montgomery General hospital,
Olney, Md.
A son of the late Peter and Mary BIRULINA FEDEROFF, he was born
June 12, 1912, in Russia.
He had been a resident of Silver Spring the past 5 1/2 years,
having resided previously in Lower Burrell.
He was a graduate of McDonald High School, a graduate of
Edinboro State College; he earned a master's degree from the University of
Pittsburgh, and attended the University of Southern California for
post-graduate studies.
Mr. FEDEROFF was a teacher in the Burrell School District for 24
years. The last position he held was art supervisor for the elementary
schools. Prior to teaching in Lower Burrell he taught in California and
North Dakota.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the Army Air Force in
Alaska.
While residing in Maryland he attended St. Nicholas Orthodox
Cathedral, Washington, D. C. He was a former member of St. John's Orthodox
Catholic Church, New Kensington, and the American Legion, Washington, D. C.
He was an artist and enjoyed painting and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Julia BULATOVA FEDEROFF; a son,
Nicholas of Silver Spring, Md.; a brother, Frank of McDonald; and two
sisters, Eva BAILEY of McDonald and Mrs. Mark (Pauline) ILYANKOFF of
Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory, in 1957.
A blessing service was held last Saturday in New Kensington.
Burial was in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
Joseph KUHN, 69, of R. D. 3, Burgettstown, died Monday, August
8, 1983, in his home.
A son of the late Joseph and Anna FORIZS KUHN, he was born
December 1, 1914, in Federal. He was a retired employee of the Blawnox
Corp. and the Atlas Alloy Co. of Atlasburg.
Surviving are his wife, Christine NAVOSKY KUHN; tow sons, Ronald
of Chulavista, Calif., and Roy of Hickory; two daughters, Dorothy IGLAR of
Atlasburg, and Tracy KUHN, at home; a brother, Louis of Bridgeville; and
three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Gizella) DURAIN of Joffre and Ann HALABURKA and
Ida PAYER of Pittsburgh. There are six grandchildren and one
great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Hayden
funeral home, Burgettstown. Burial will be in Mt. Prospect cemetery,
Hickory.
Mrs. Esther V. LIENARD, 86, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of
McDonald, died Friday, July 29, 1983, in St. Anthony hospital, Columbus.
A daughter of the late Joseph and Leoncie BLANC, she was born
January 6, 1897, in Sturgeon. She and her husband owned an operated a
confectionery store in the Columbus area for 51 years. She was a member of
St. Thomas Fellowship Club, St. Thomas Women's Club, St. Catharine Golden
Agers, South Enchore Unit of the Columbus Symphony, and Retail Grocers
Association.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Elmira) LEISTER
of Columbus, and Mrs. William (June) RUPERT of Jackson, Ohio; eight
grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
her husband Charles J. LIENARD; two sons, Leon and John; a sister, Viola
BLANC PITTS; and two brothers, Joseph and Harry BLANC.
A funeral mass was held August 1 in Columbus. Burial was in St.
Joseph cemetery, Columbus.
Mrs. Sophie B. HINES, 69, of Kissimmee, Fla., formerly of Cecil,
died Tuesday, August 2, 1983, in Kissimmee Memorial hospital.
A daughter of John Thomas and Caroline SPAK HODOLA, she was born
August 10, 1913.
Surviving are four sons, Philip of Sulfur, La., Charles of
Cincinnati, Ohio, and John and Stephen of Pittsburgh; a sister, Frances
MORROW of Virginia Beach, Va.; and a brother, Stanley HODOLA of Melbourne,
Fla.; and six grandchildren. Her husband, Philip HINES, died June 20, 1979.
Mass of Christian burial was held last Friday morning in St.
Mary's R. C. Church, Cecil. Burial was in the church cemetery.
