Since this was the one specifically asked about previously, and since I had
never heard of Dengue fever before, I looked it up in my medical dictionary.
I am posting this to the list in case others might be interested.
"Dengue (breakdone fever) A viral disease transmitted to man principally
by the mosquito. Symptoms, which last for a few days, include severe pains in
the joints and muscles, headache, sore throat, fever, running of the eyes, and
an irritatin rash. These symptoms recur in a usually mild form after an
interval of two or three days. Death rarely occurs, but the patient is left
debilitated and requires considerable convalescence. Dengue occurs throught
the tropic and subtropics. Patients are given aspirin and codeine to relieve
the pain and calamine lotion is helpful in easing the irritating rash."
