Cornelia,
There were PINNELLs in Boone County, IN. Matter-of-fact, there was a school
in Harrison Township, Boone County, IN that was named PINNELL; Mr. Pinnell
gave [or sold?] some acreage on his farm for the school (grades 1 thru 12).
The school was closed in the 1970s when consolidation took place and made up a
part of Granville-Wells School. Lebanon is the county seat, and you could
probably get more information from the Lebanon Public Library ---- and they
can give you the contact person at the Boone County Historical Society. I'm
sure the gentleman (Ralph Stark) who had been the county historian for years
has passed on now but he had fantastic information.
