Hello all. I was wondering if somebody could tell me how far back the
city directories for Pittsburgh go, and whether or not they are available
on microfilm at the Family History Centers. My gr-gr-great grandfather,
William Price, came from South Wales to the U.S. in either 1861 or 1867.
He was in Pittsburgh by 1870, where he is found in the census living in
the 23rd ward. In the 1880 census he was living in Pittsburgh at 1205
Virgin Alley. He was a puddler by trade.
