Barb,
The only persons listed in SSDI (Social Security Death
Index) are those that received death benefits. At the
time of death, those under Social Security receive
$255.00 in death benefits and these are the ONLY ones
included on SSDI. The funeral director applies for
these, usually, to be paid to a dependent survivor.
