Formula for determining day of the week.
Step 1. Begin with the last 2 digits of the year.
Step 2. Add 1/4 of this number, disregarding any remainder.
Step 3. Add the date in the month.
Step 4. Add according to the month:
Jan 1(for leap year, 0)
Feb 4(for leap year, 3)
Mar or Nov 4
Apr or July 0
May 2
June 5
Aug 3
Sept or Dec 6
October 1
Step 5. Add for the 18th century 4
19 2
20 0
21 6
Step 6. Total the numbers.
Step 7. Divide by 7. Check the remainder against the chart to determine the
day of the week.
1 Sun 2 Mon 3 Tues 4 Wed 5 Thurs 6 Fri 0 Sat
