Could the AH mean "At Home"? I found this with someone in Pittsburgh 1880
census and in looking at the microfilm and the entries around it came to this
conclusion. The boy was 14 with occupation shown as AH and was an adopted
child of people who had a restaurant. I thought that perhaps because the boy
was of working age and it was not shown that he was in school that he was
simply "at home" without a paying job. This was only my conclusion and may
be totally wrong!
