Good info! When you get the book, please let me/us know if it's useful. I
think my immigrant Irish ancestor came to America a little later, but she
was born in 1848, County Cork, Ireland. She died in 1923 in Pittsburgh. Her
name was Bridget/Delia THORP(e), daughter of Henry THORPE and Anna LOGAN.
Never could find anything on her parents; just their names on Bridget's
death certificate. Bridget married Henry J./John Henry TAYLOR born in
Bev in Calif.

> I've spent several months trying to find a book: THE FAMINE IMMIGRANTS; a
lists of Irish immigrants 1840 - 1850, New York. Edited by Ira A. Glazier,
volumes 1 to 7. Five libraries refused to lend it.
> Yesterday, on another errand to Barnes and Noble Book Store, I asked,
without any real hope, if they had it. SURPRISE! They do have it in stock
and are ordering it for me. Another surprise, it cost only $20some dollars.
And I have the option of NOT buying it if I find it's not helpful. Based on
the 7 volumes information I was under the impression they were separate
books. As it turns out they are in one volume.
