Hi Norm,
I'm not Nancy, but I also bought the 1880 census CDs--they are well worth
the price. Once CD is the viewer that you need to see the census; the
actual census CDs take up discs 1-35; and the national index is on 20
additional CDs. The index is great--you do not need to have any idea where
the person lived in the United State. You search on the index (and you have
many search options), and it tells you which of the census CD's to use. It
also pulls up spelling variations for you.
You can order over the phone or on-line---here's the link:

prmenbr=1402&CGRY_NUM=1440461&RowStart=436660&LocCode=FH
Description
The complete transcription of the original 1880 United States census.
Includes the enumeration of individuals within households and institutions.
This allows you to view those who were neighbors of your ancestors.
Approximately 50 million names are contained on the CDs. The names are
divided into seven regions and are accompanied by a National Index.
System requirements are:
PentiumĀ® processor (or equivalent)
Windows 95, 98 or NT 4.0+
8 MB RAM minimum (16 MB recommended)
CD-ROM drive (4x minimum recommended)
VGA monitor with 256-color-capable video card
8 MB hard disk space
I'm very happy with my purchase--it's really a bargain.

Hi Nancy,
55 CDs is a lot of CDs...surely there's more on them than just the 1880
Census. The price sure sounds right. Can you list
everything that included on them?? Tnx.
