Dear Allegheny-ers--

My sincere apologies if the posting I made a couple of days ago--making a
humorous play on the words related to the word "dam" in another member's
email--offended anyone on this list. It certainly was not my intention to
offend. A slip in common sense is my crime in this case, and I apologize for
the misstep.

Though I received several humorous replies from folks who were amused, there
was one person who made a public notice about being offended, and therefore
I am issuing a general apology to the list, in case anyone else found my
message inappropriate.

We've all given each other wonderful help and assistance in our own Virtual
Allegheny County. I've provided it to many on the list, and others have done
the same for me. As a member of the extended Allegheny "family" (I'm sure
most of our ancestors knew one another sometime back there long ago), I hope
to continue to help others on the list, and receive the kind assistance that
this list is famous for.
