Hello,

I am researching information on my ggggrandparents in the pittsburgh area. I know that Martin McGovern and his family came over from Ireland in the 1850's (census) and Patrick Henry Martin also came over sometime in the 1850' also from Ireland.
I am asking for assitance on the best way to try and find what area of Ireland they came from ? I do not know what port or ship they came on and i am currently in the process of trying to get church records from the catholic archives.

The reason i am asking for assistance is that i will be going to Ireland in 2 weeks, and i would like to possibly continue my resaerch while i am there.(If amyone has some tips on research in Ireland, that would be helpful too)
