My ancestors, the WHISLER's were also boat builders (1800 - 1900's). They
lived in Rochester and New Sewickley and New Brighton. Unfortunately, I
don't know much about them so I am enjoying reading your contributions.
Leander WHISLER (born abt. 1833 moved to Sioux City, Iowa by 1899 - does
anyone know if this would be a typical relocation? (he remained a "boat
builder" there). Terri

Terri -- doesn't sound typical. I hope we all learn more about boat building
and navigating on the Allegeheny, Monanagehela & Ohio Rivers in Western PA. I
enjoyed your post.
