Let me take a few minutes to set the record straight about the Beaver
County Courthouse. The courthouse is open and fully functional and anyone
doing research in Beaver County should spend some time at the courthouse.
New buildings are being constructed on either side of the courthouse and
when these are completed (many, many months from now) all courthouse
functions and records will be transferred to these two new buildings and
then the old courthouse will be demolished. This being said, parking is a
bit tight with the additional construction workers, people coming in for
the jury pool and courthouse personnel. There is plenty of metered parking
on 3rd St. (Beaver's main street and the street that the courthouse is on)
and there is a shuttle that runs every 10-15 minutes from the courthouse to
a free parking lot. If you check the following URL on the Beaver County
Genealogical Society's web page you will find written directions to the
free parking lot and also another link to a very detailed map of the area.

I drive by the courthouse at about 9:45 am every Monday and there is almost
always parking available directly in front of the courthouse.
