Thanks Gloria,
I would love to have the kids names. Now the Sarah who married Marzolff. I
found this in the archives for Beaver mail list:

Here are some snippets from a Souvenir of the 100th anniversary of the
organization of the St. John's United Evangelical Protestant Church, June
19, 1935:

In the years 1832, 1833, and 1834 many families, emigrating from German
Alsace and from Germany Proper, settled in Beaver Co. Pa. In the year 1835
about 30 of these families and several former settlers agreed to organize a
congregation in polity as some of its prospective members had been reared in
the Lutheran Church, others in the Reformed Church and still others in the
United Evangelical Church, which had been established through the influence
of Emperor Frederick William in 1817, by a union of portions of the Lutheran
and Reformed Churches. They at once decided to erect a church building.
Although their finances were meager, good timber was plentiful on their
farms and it was agreed upon that every family should furnish a number of
logs from which to erect a block church. The same year an acre of ground was
purchased for $10.00 from Swiss F. Burry, who soon after joined the
congregation. Anxious to have a place where they could worship God, they
immediately hauled the logs together, set them up and covered them with a
roof.

The names of the charter membership are not recorded. We, however, find a
list of those members who paid towards the salary of the minister for 1836.
Among those listed are: John Burry and Jacob Burry.

The present building was dedicated Nov. 18, 1928.

It was addressed to a Sally. I tried her email address but it is no longer
active.

I have two wills for Burry's if your interested.

Thanks again,
Michelle
