If you are searching for EARLY families in the region, many who came thought
they were coming to VA., look to VA . There are court records where I have
found my family. PA recognized their VA land grants, so if you are looking
for really early land records look to VA. , also VA Military records. Many
came from VA and MD and brought their slaves, some left after the decision
and went to KY, lately also part of VA. The border dispute was a very ugly
one, much like the Middle East today , with tar and feathering and house
burnings etc.
