I just received a letter from the Research Center at the Carnegie
Library asking for contributions. It says "Due to unexpected
expenses and increased costs, the Center may be forced to curtail
its hours or close in the near future."

What is the story? Is it really in dire straits? They were extremely
helpful to me when I visited there last year. I made fantastic
progress in my research. I hope the situation improves for them.
