My grandfather, Paul Anderson Cain was born on July 18, 1902, in Green Twp,
Beaver Co. & died Nov. 1982, to "Belle" (Cora Belle Wright (1877-1948) &
Milo Anderson Cain, Jr. 1863-1941). Milo & Belle were married in Beaver
Co, PA, in Sept. 1896. (Cora's parents were: Johnathan Wright & Mary Jane
Cain Wright). I would like to definitely know her parents!
Milo was 1st married to Henrietta Holmes, & she died in 1892. She
was the daughter of Leander Holmes, of that county. HIs father, Milo, has
a bio in the History of Beaver County by Warner. He had 3 children: Vesta
(died in 1951 (Mrs. Emery Parrish of Aliquippa), & a brother, Lester, whom
died in an ammo factory accident when 18 years old.
Milo's father was also Milo, but had actually died a month before he
was born in March 1863. His mother was Mary Jane White Cain (died in 1890),
daughter of James & Ester Neely White of Independence Twp. I suspect his
White relations sold a farm that his parents owned, my grandma told me this
story.
My other side of family, was John Coleman, CW veteran of the 140th
Regiment P.V. serving three years. He was one of the lucky ones, to return
to continue having a family!
But unlucky that diptheria took two or more of his children, while off to
war. John died in 1902. He married Martha Jane Snodgrass Coleman. I
suspect she died in 1917. They're buried in Spring Grove Cemetery, East
Liverpool, along with many other Coleman, mostly his children/granchildren.
Aaron Snodgrass was her dad, & he also lived in East Liverpool until his
death in the 1880's, along with his wife, Sarah. I've found that they were
a very close family to the Coleman's, living behind their relatives on 9th
Street, downtown East Liverpool, OH.
I'm hoping to find out more about a Jonathan Coleman whom married a Keziah
(? ) Coleman in Beaver County, & he perhaps lived in or was born in VA
at one time?! There's a legend saying that some of the male Coleman's (8)
all split up among the states ( think of WVA, VA, PA, OH). Rutherford
"Ford" I've found in East Liverpool recently on the census, but don't know
much about his family. Joshua was another that was in the St. Clair Twp
area, perhaps around Beaver Creek State Park , before it existed, in the
1880's or before?! I'm wondering if a Curt Coleman, William, & Alexander
all are related to my Coleman's of Beaver Co. area, so if you have
connections, or information, let me know.
Any info would be informative. Look forward to hearing from some of you
soon.
