Where are you located? If it's near any of the Brethren colleges (McPherson
in KS; Manchester in Indiana; Elizabethtown & Juniata in PA; LaVerne in CA;
Bridgewater in VA; Ashland in OH; Bethany Seminary at Richmond IN.) their
libraries probably have lots of Brethren goodies for genealogies. McPherson
has a Brethren Collection room where I've found lots of stuff. Also there
is a Brethren archive I think at the general offices in Elgin, IL.

Brethren Roots is the quarterly publication of the Fellowship of Brethren
Genealogists. Subscription is $10 yearly. Address I have is c/o Ron
McAdams, 7690 South Peters Road, Tipp City, OH 45371. Back issues are
available at $2.50.

Brethren, like the Mennonites, work from a fairly small gene pool. There
are lots of Brethren in Bedford & Somerset Counties--may be the primary
denomination for all I know.
