ZipClapper,
There is a virus rampant on the net and the note you referenced is an
example. Do not open any file attached to an address that begins with an
underline dash (_). This is from a legitimate person who has no idea that
they have received a virus nor that they are passing it on. The virus passes
itself along to anyone they write to and it appears to be from an address you
are familiar with, but has an underline dash in front of it.
My husband's hobby group is also having problems with this virus BUT it
is NOT being transferred over the mailing list! The fact that the list
rejects any attached file keeps us all safe using the list. But in addition
we all write to one another, those are the connections we all are looking for
and why we follow these lists daily. But that is also how so many of us have
been hit by this virus! BE VERY CAREFUL WHICH ATTACHMENTED FILES YOU OPEN.
The one sent to me even looked like genealogy information, but it came
unsolicited, so it was suspect. If we all increase our defenses, we'll get
through this.
